Services
Registration:
Registration
is dealt with by our receptionists. Do not worry if you cannot find your medical
card - you will be given an alternative form with which to register. On registration
you will be offered a New Patient Medical.
Appointments:
Appointments may be made by telephoning: 029 20524140 during
the hours in which the building is open. Alternatively, of course, you may
make an appointment by calling in personally to reception.
If
surgeries are full and you feel you cannot wait for an appointment, you will
be seen at the end of surgery or alternatively in an "Emergency"
surgery.
Home
Visits:
The telephone number for home visits is: 029
20524140 at all times
If you are not well enough to come to surgery, then you may request a home visit by telephoning this number (if at all possible between 8:30am - 10:00am - this greatly assists the doctors in planning their daily calls). The receptionist may ask you for some idea of the problem in order to assess the urgency of the visit - if you do feel a visit is urgent, please do make this clear.
Please remember that Home Visits are very time consuming for the doctor and it is greatly appreciated if you can come to the surgery if you are able.
If you wish to speak to the Doctor please ring between 11.30 and 12 noon.
For out of hours URGENT calls, your call on 029 20524140 will be automatically diverted to the out of hours service and your call will be passed to a doctor from the local Deputising Service
Repeat
Prescriptions:
Repeat
prescriptions may be requested:
1:
By post - enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.
2: By Hand - written requests may be delivered to the surgery at any time.
3: By verbal request at reception.
For 2 and 3, usually 24 hours is required for the prescription to be processed and available for collection.
Please do not telephone for repeat prescriptions, as this blocks the line for urgent calls.
Please do not send children to request or collect prescriptions.
Teaching:
This
Practice has a commitment to teaching Senior Medical Students who occasionally
sit in on surgeries. The receptionist will inform you when a student is in
attendance and you are of course free to ask to see the doctor alone in such
cases, if you prefer.
Suggestions
or Complaints:
Any
suggestions or complaints pertaining to the Practice should be made either
in person, or in writing, to the Practice Manager.
